Every January, Mote hosts its Special Lecture Series featuring Mote scientists who share their world-class research on Monday evenings. Each lecture takes place from 6:00–7:30 p.m. (doors open at 5:00 p.m.including a live presentation followed by a Q&A session.This event usually sells out, reserve your tickets early!Check out Dr. Emily Hall and Jim Culter’s lecture on Jan. 16 to learn more about Mote scientists embarking on journeys to the “deep” to explore blue holes. Blue holes are underwater sinkholes, similar to sinkholes on land. They vary in size, shape and depth, but most are ecological hot spots.
