Fine Arts Photographer Michael Cohen Debuts at Arts Advocates Gallery

From 2:00PM to 4:00PM

Michael Cohen's work -- exhibited in Manhattan, Woodstock, Chestnut Hill, Yonkers, Secaucus and Sarasota in the past -- attempts to capture fleeting scenes we sometimes fail to appreciate as found art. He sees himself as a “collector” as much as a creator of these images. The subjects aren’t typically a person or object, but rather the light itself, its reflection or, in the case of deep shadows, the absence of light. His other body of work, Faces of the Upper West -- https://www.facesoftheupperwest.com/ -- captures completely unique images from Upper West Side brownstones and beyond.

Location: The Crossings at Siesta Key mall Suite 119, 3501 S. Tamiami Trail - open every Saturday in May 2:00 - 4:00 pm

The Flip Side

From 6:00PM to 7:30PM

Life is strange, and the people around us are even stranger. Sardonic, ironic, and even histrionic, these witty tunes are full of moronic characters and sophisticated lyrics that reveal the present state of our world—the good, the bad, and the funny. With songs like “I’m My Own Grandpa,” “The Ballad of Sigmund Freud,” “Still Gonna Die,” “Killed by a Coconut,” and others, this offbeat Cabaret pays tribute to some of the best comic songwriters of the 20th Century.
