Spring Break at Mote

From 11:00AM to 12:00PM

Put on your adventure hat and explore the mangrove forest at the end of City Island with one of our professional educators. Learn about the importance of this incredible habitat and complete a seashore scavenger hunt while enjoying one of the best views in Sarasota.Who: All ages  (ALL participants, adults or children, must register)Fee: $13.50 for members, $15.00 for non-membersWhen: 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.Pre-registration for all participants (including parents/guardians) is required. Fee is per participant, ages 3 and older. Seashore SEAfari does not include general admission to Mote Marine Laboratory. Guests who wish to tour the aquarium exhibits will need to purchase general admission tickets. At least one paying adult chaperone is required for every 4 youth participants. All adults/guardians in attendance must be registered.

DeSoto County Historical Society's 19th Annual Pioneer Day & BBQ

Celebrate the history and heritage of southwest Florida at the DeSoto County Historical Society's 19th Annual Pioneer Day and Barbecue from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 25, with the Arcadia American Legion sponsored Antique Tractor and Hit & Miss Engine Show at the Turner Center in Arcadia. Fun for the whole family includes bodacious barbecue and other foods, demonstrations of pioneer skills and crafts, musical entertainment, legendary characters, Florida Cracker cow camp and whipcrackers, hands-on history area, and more.
