To celebrate the season of thanks, Mote is offering a cornucopia of family-friendly programs. From guided tours to dip netting in the bay, we have special activities to help you enjoy time with those dearest to you. Grab your family and friends and make some #MoteMemories!*EACH EVENT REQUIRES REGISTRATION*- Sat. Nov 19 at 11 a.m. - Family Dip Netting in the BaySplash into Sarasota Bay! Join Mote for some fun outdoor exploration. Participants will use dip nets to explore the nearshore seagrass beds and learn about the plants and animals that call the Bay home.- Monday, Nov. 21 at 8:30 a.m. - Guided Aquarium TourJoin one of our ocean experts on a guided tour of Mote's main aquarium building featuring our resident sharks, stingrays and coral reef galleries.- Monday, Nov. 21 at 11 a.m. - Seashore SEAfariPut on your adventure hat and explore the mangrove forest at the end of City Island with one of our professional educators. Learn about the importance of this incredible habitat and complete a seashore scavenger hunt while enjoying one of the best views in Sarasota!- Tuesday, Nov. 22 @ 8:30 a.m. - Guided Mammal Center TourJoin one of our ocean experts on a guided tour of our Goldstein Marine Mammal Center featuring our resident sea turtles, manatees, otters and Oh Baby!- Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 1 p.m. - Afternoon PaddleWe are offering a special afternoon paddle during Thanksgiving week! Take a nature break this holiday week with a guided kayak tour of Sarasota Bay. Paddle across shallow seagrass beds and take in the wildlife that depends on this ecosystem. Soak up some sun as we look for dolphins, manatees, birds and MORE!- Friday, Nov. 25 at 11 a.m. - Family Dip Netting in the BayJoin Mote for some more fun outdoor exploration. Participants will use dip nets to explore the nearshore seagrass beds and learn about the plants and animals that call Sarasota Bay home.- Saturday, Nov. 26 at 8:30 a.m. - Breakfast with the SharksYou and your chums will have a great time sinking your teeth into a light continental breakfast while you learn about our favorite finned friends and Mote’s breakthrough shark research. During this program, you'll meet our resident sharks, watch a narrated feeding of our bonnetheads, and have all of your shark questions answered.- Sunday, Nov. 27 at 8:30 a.m. - Morning PaddleStart your day off right with a guided kayak tour of Sarasota Bay! Learn about the local wildlife that depends on this ecosystem.*Please note that none of these activities are drop-off programs. They are for all ages (kayaking for ages 12 and up) and require all children to be accompanied by paid, participating adults. All participants MUST pre-register. Volunteer Recruitment Coffee
